I did not grow up wanting to sue anybody. I grew up in Spartanburg, South Carolina, went to the University of Georgia for undergrad and law school, and spent a decade at a high-stakes trial firm handling complex litigation before I opened Conn Law in Savannah in March 2025. What I learned in those years, trying cases and sitting across kitchen tables from people on the worst day of their lives, is that almost nobody understands how a Georgia personal injury claim works until they're already living inside one.
That's the gap this book is written to close. Not the version of the law you can find in a five-minute search, but the version that decides what happens to your claim. What a Georgia jury is allowed to award. What a preservation letter has to accomplish before evidence disappears. Why a truck case runs on a different clock than a car case, and why a medical malpractice claim in Georgia can't even be filed without an expert willing to sign an affidavit first.
I limit my caseload on purpose. I take catastrophic injury, wrongful death, medical malpractice, products liability, and serious truck collision cases, and I loop in co-counsel on the smaller car wreck matters to focus on the more severe injury cases.
Every chapter answers one real question, grounded in Georgia law and in the cases I've handled out of Savannah and Chatham County. Start wherever your situation puts you.
